Cyclo Driver

This was one of our cyclo drivers in Ho Chi Minh. I'm really intrigued with portraits right now... particularly the work of the guy who does Chromasia.

The Petronas Palms

These are the Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur, which were the tallest buildings in the world at the time of their completion. Now they are second and third, behind Taipei 101. (300D, 1/250", f 5.6, ISO 400, 18.0-55.0 mm at 55.0 mm)

Angkor What?

This is the temple complex of Angkor Wat at dawn. I just got back from a 2 week jaunt through Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia. It should provide plenty of pictures for the coming weeks.

Mi Kasa Es Su Kasa

I headed out for an early morning picture taking jaunt yesterday. I came across these umbrellas outside what I think is an abandoned drug store. Kasa is the Japanese word for umbrella. (300D, Aperture-Priority, 1/15", f22, Metering Mode: Evaluative, ISO 200, Lens 18.0 - 55.0 mm, Focal Length 22.0 mm)

Darkness Behind

I'm a little torn about this one. I like the idea, but I don't know if the end result was quite what I wanted. (300D, Auto, 1/125", f5.6, Metering Mode: Evaluative, ISO 400, Lens 18.0 - 55.0mm, Focal Length 49.0mm)

Late Night at the Bottle Shop

My wife didn't really like this one when I first showed it to her, so I hesitated to put it up. She thought that it looked more like a painting, than a photograph. It actually hasn't been PhotoShopped at all, just shot on a slow shutter speed. (300D, Aperture-Priority, 30", f32, Metering Mode: Evaluative, ISO 1600, Lens 18.0 - 55.0mm, Focal Length 42.0mm)

A Basket Full of Surprises

I came across this bicycle while wandering around a paint shop in Hosoe (hopefully I can do something good with the pictures from the paint shop soon). Th bike seems to have been there a while, but one of the kids in the shop seemed to be using the basket to store his helmet and dirty socks. (300D, Aperture-Priority, 1/125", f14, Metering Mode: Evaluative, ISO 400, Lens 18.0 - 55.0mm, Focal Length 38.0mm)

This was from the same night as the previous shot. I it when it was quite dark. I like the way that the flower looks almost metalic under the flash. (300D, Portrait Mode, 1/60", f5.6, Metering Mode: Evaluative, ISO 100, Lens 18.0 - 55.0mm, Focal Length 55.0mm)
